One of the aspects of photography as a medium that I love is its ability to capture reality and transform that reality into something completely different. For this series, I used digital editing and in studio lighting techniques to create images that reveal these discarded objects as figures of interest and beauty. Each scrap of metal, collected from Finkl’s Steel Foundry, has its own unique shape and form that I wanted to emphasize through my photographs. By displaying the object's reflection, I wish to reveal even more of the form as well as give the objects a perplexing duality. Digital/Ink-Jet Prints on Bamboo Paper.
